Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline featuring angels, demons, and dark forces growing in power within the urban setting.
Warning: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the central cast to begin their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might look out of place, but the events of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to head next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his own means, invading the secret base, striking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their status as key figures in the powerful family could help the group access places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer defied the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This leaves them few options but to travel to the remote area in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the participants to form the Seekers and Strategists groups.
